Made by the Steele family in County Cork, Ireland. Thanks to Veronica Steele's encouragement and influence this area around the coastline has become well-known for its washed-rind cheeses. This is because the bacteria necessary to achieve their characteristic mushroomy, meaty flavours (Brevibacterium linens) is found naturally in this area. Milleens has that characteristic farmyard aroma that is key to washed-rind cheeses.
